Collab away y’all !!!
What’s the motto of the three musketeers?
“Creamy on the inside and smooth on the outside”… uh, no, hang on, that’s not it.
“Let’s go kill some northern filth and have some wine”… nah, this one is by a guy named George.
“All for one and one for all” !!! That’s the one.
Why did I bring this up? Because we at Ghost House are sick and tired of reading some weird interpretations of the word “collaboration”. I’ve just googled the word to be sure I’m not seeing pink elephants, ‘cause it’s messy out there.
“Collaboration is the process of two or more people or organizations working together to realize shared goals. Collaboration is very similar to cooperation, and both are an opposite of competition.”
You are NOT competing with people you collab with. I don’t know why this is such a big deal. And it doesn’t really matter what are you collabing in. Music, films, books… whatever. The main goal is to give your best and come up with great piece of art.
But what about rights, credits and all that stuff? Listen we’re not living in 19th century. You choose to work with that guy(or gal) or not. Nobody makes you do anything. Free will, baby. Nowadays it’s all recorded, signed and sealed. There’s no “Snow White and 7 dwarfs” situation here… (ew, talk about children’s literature)
The most important thing here is that you have an idea, you have a vision, you have music in you and you need some help to get it out in the best possible way. Why some people are criminalizing it is beyond our understanding. So if you have an idea but don’t have enough skills or time or whatever to make it happen the way you want it… what? You should just forget about it? No way! You’re going to look for help while you’re working on your own skills. You should never kill the idea just because you can’t present it the way you want it. There are people who can do it, so just go for it… get together and make it happen.
I get that this blog post is amateurish… even childish and way too emotional. But I wouldn’t change a word. Why? Because the issue itself is less than serious. I could’ve gone deep and bring up examples, justify collabing, but I won’t do that ‘cause there’s absolutely no need for that. Let’s get real, ok? We all know what’s this shitstorm all about. It’s because ghostwriting services are suddenly getting popular… Mind you, ghostwriting is the same collaboration. They just made a word for it. And ghostwriting thing is much-much older than majority thinks.
AND… I may be wrong, but since you’re reading this, you’re looking for some help or collaboration or ghostwriting… call it what you want. Well, let’s see… what do we have here? We have a great team here who are willing to help you to get out your musical ideas, your vision… with a little personal touch they’ll make your music even better. So go on, check out our ghost-house and see which service suits your needs best.
Okay guys, I told them you’re awesome. Now where’s my piece of cake?
If you went through this post and still have issues with ghostwriting – sorry. You’ve just wasted 10 minutes of your time.
